  Articles peer review process

  All the accepted manuscripts undergo the peer reviewing process. The journal has two forms of peer review:
      - a single blind internal peer review (article is reviewed by members of editorial board)
      - a single blind external peer review (for review articles are submitted to qualified experts with relevant scientific profile but not working in the same affiliation with the authors)
  The executive secretary determines article compliance with the journal profile, format requirements and submits it to an expert - a Doctor or Candidate of Science (PhD) -  whose area of expertise is close to the article subject matter.
  In peer review report the following points must be indicated:
      - if article content is relevant to its stated title;
      - how much article corresponds to the modern achievements in the given scientific field;
      - if article is comprehensible for its readers regarding the article language, stylistics, text arrangement, clarity of diagrams, pictures, tables, etc.;
      - if article publication is reasonable considering the available references dedicated to this particular subject matter;
      - article exact positive sites, shortages, and comments , i.e. what corrections and additions should be made by the authors;
      - the review resolution if article can be published in the journal with a corresponding note: "recommended", or "recommended after all the corrections indicated by reviewer are done", or "not recommended" attached.
  Peer review report is authorized according to the procedure established in the reviewer's affiliation.
  A final decision on manuscript suitability is made by the editorial board.
  In case review is positive and the editorial board accepts a manuscript for publication the executive secretary informs author about the positive decision and indicates the period within which the manuscript will be published.
   Once a manuscript has a negative review, i.e. a note "not recommended", it cannot be accepted for the second time.
    If manuscript is rejected a motivated notification will be sent to the author (a copy of negative anonymous review attached) by fax, e-mail, or a regular letter.
  The original copies of reviews are kept in the Veterinarny Vrach journal editors office.

Publication ethics policy

   This ethics policy statement is based on Guidelines of Committee on Publication ethics (COPE). Ethic standards compliance is very important for all the participants of publication process: authors, the journal editors, peer reviewers, publishers.
  The Veterinarny Vrach scientific peer-reviewed journal supports the ethic standards of scientific publications. All the recieved articles are first subjected to peer reviewing process. We exclude any pressure on making editorial decision.

Editors' Responsibilities

   Editors of the "Veterinarny Vrach" peer reviewed journal are responsible for making decision to publish an article. Editor must observe legal requirements otherwise he/she will be called to account in case fraud, law of copyright violation, or plagiarism is made.
   The journal editors always evaluate manuscript intellectual content regardless authors' race, sex, sexual orientation, religion, ethnicity, nation, or political views.
   Any information about article and its authors is confidential, members of the editorial board and editorial council will not disclose any information about received article to anyone but authors, article reviewers, members of editorial board, and publishers.
    Editor cannot use any unpublished data from recieved article in his/her own investigation without author's special written approval to publish them.

Resposibilities of reviewers

   Reviewers help editors make editorial decision and help authors improve their article. A reviewer who does not feel to be qualified enough to evaluate article or knows that timely review is not possible, should inform editor and resign to review the article.
   Any article submitted for review should be regarded as a confidential document. It cannot be shown or discussed with other people except the ones assigned by editor.
   Article review must be objective. Any personal criticism is unacceptable.
   Reviewers should identify the published data which was cited by author. Any statement containing an observation, results, or facts which have previously been published should be confirmed by a corresponding citation and reference.
   Reviewer cannot use any unpublished data obtained from submitted articles for personal purposes.

Responsibilities of authors

      Authors of original investigation material should provide a detailed report about the research and an objective discussion of its significance. The major data should be documented. The document should contain a sufficient number of details and references so make it possible to restore the research. Fraud or deliberately vague statemants are recognized as non-ethic and therefore are unacceptable.
  Authors should be ready to provide an access to data related to publication material if such is possible. At least authors should be ready to keep the data within a reasonable period of time after article is published.
  Authors must guarantee that their work is completely original. In case a work or phrase is borrowed, it should be cited and referenced accordingly.
  It is strictly prohibited to publish overlapping works, i.e. the ones already described in other publications, an investigation can be published only once and no more than in one journal. Submitting an article to more than one journal at one time means non-ethic publication behavior and is unacceptable.
   Also, it is necessary to provide due confirmation of involved works published by other researchers. Authors should cite all the publications contributed into creation of requested work.
  Authorship should be limited to the people who were involved and had a significant effect into the work conception, project, accomplishment or its interpretation. All these people should be referred as coauthors. If there are people who were involved into separate steps of investigation project they should be mentioned in the article as assistants.
  Author must make sure that article lists only actual authors, it does not have ones who were not involved in this very work and all the coauthors have read and authorized the final version of article and agree to publish the article.
  All the authors must inform editors in case there is a financial or other conflict of interests, which can affect on manual results or interpretation. All the funding sources of project support must be indicated.
  In case author finds a significant error or discrepancy in his published work he is obliged to promptly inform and cooperate with editor to correct or amend it.
